"Determination of othe Origin of Korea Opium by Direct Absorption Spectrophotometry."
To cope with the internal or international illicit traffic ofopium, many studies on the determination onf origin of opium have been carried out over the world.
We applied the direct absorption spectrophotometry which is simple, rapid and easily reproducible to the determination of the characteristics of Korean and foreign opiums.
20 samples we cultivated and 20 authenticated samples from 8 different countries were analysed by means of the above-mentioned method.
The results are as follows:
1. It was impmossible to determine the origine of the internal opiums, but possible to distinguish Koean opiums form those produced in Yugoslavia, Pakistan, Turkey, India, Japan and Iran.
2. It is considered this method can make possible a useful and rapid distinction of opium samples confiscated.
